Born Angel Rocky Rivera to Spanish parents Madeline and Angel Sr., Angel Rivera was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, and moved to Ohio at the age of two. As a child, Angel had an innate desire to create beautiful things. He was obsessed with fashion, and when he was old enough, he began to dress and accessorize his sisters for all kinds of occasions. But it was bridal that really caught his attention. “A wedding dress is the most important garment a woman will ever wear, and one that she will always remember and treasure,” says Angel. After receiving his degree in Fashion Studies at Youngstown State University, Angel moved to New York in pursuit of a career in fashion.

Since then, Angel has worked with industry’s top fashion houses, including Amsale, Kenneth Pool, Christos, Kirstie Kelly, and the world famous Kleinfeld. He also continued his studies in pattern making at the prestigious Parsons School of Design. Through his studies at Parsons and his experience with brides-to-be at Kleinfeld, Angel acquired a keen eye for fit and proportion.

Angel combines luxurious silks with couture construction to create ultra-feminine pieces layered with nostalgia, charm and luxury; a distinctive look for which the designer has become known.

It all begins with a sketch that is brought to life through expert pattern making, draping and fitting. Angel Rivera’s gowns capture the hearts of brides around the world.
